Swedish Prison and Probation Service is Hiring a Security Expert

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand facilities, and client transportation.

The Security Department is responsible for monitoring and analyzing trends and events that may affect security work, as well as identifying, developing, and implementing leading practices and expert knowledge. The position is located within the section for individual security.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a security expert, you will follow up and quality assure the security work within the authority. Your tasks include developing, planning, following up, standardizing, and educating in security matters. This is in relation to prisons, remand facilities, probation, the transportation department, and offices concerning clients, visitors, and staff. You will also develop security training, methods, and techniques for the authority's operational capacity and security elements in staff training. Requirements for procurement of security equipment and work on improving practices and routines within the security area are part of the role. Part of the work involves planning and following up on tasks and/or projects within the security area where you are expected to produce reports or other documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others but can also structure and drive their own assignments. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. In meetings with others, you communicate clearly and ensure that messages are conveyed and expectations are clear for all parties involved. Furthermore, you think strategically and have a broad perspective on issues.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in a relevant field or other education combined with relevant work experience
• Experience working in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, preferably at different levels
• Experience in planning, executing, and following up on work and/or projects
• Experience in investigative work
• Experience in writing reports and other documentation
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Broad knowledge of security issues

It is an advantage if you have:

• Post-secondary education in the security field
• Approved basic training within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
• Experience working with security assessments
• Experience working with standardization and governing documents
• Experience in planning and presenting decision-making documentation
• Experience in security work locally, regionally, and nationally within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
